Wayfinding and Signage
Design, develop and implement both an external and internal wayfinding strategy and signage family to compliment Harrogate Borough Council's newly commisioned head office whilst incorporating their existing logo. The signage family had to be able to convey strength and authoritativeness whilst remaining friendly and promoting transparency.

Option one
Drawing heavily on the design of the architectural elements of the the proposed building, option one was an almalgamation of harsh lines and organic curves designed to give the signage family a strong yet approachable appearance.

Option two
Concrete and glass have been used to create a stark constast between strength and fragility. Portraying the authoritiveness of the council whilst promoting their transparency.

Option 3
Oak and slate have been combined to prove that power and friendliness can go hand in hand. They go together to create an imposing signage family whilst remaining friendly and inviting.
Conclusion
The council decided to progress option two to the manufacturing stage as it best represented the qualities that they wanted to convey whilst being inkeeping with the architectue of the building and sympathetic to their leafy surroundings.
